My Emergence  As Eze-Elect  Of  Umuoyima   Community, Owerri    Followed  Due  Process – Uba

The Eze- elect of Umuoyima autonomous community in Owerri Municipal Council of Imo State, Prince Michael Chibuzor Uba, has asserted that his emergence was in accordance with laid down procedures and did not violate any rules of the community or the government.

Speaking to journalists during a special reception held in his honour to mark his official presentation to Owerri Municipal Council as the Eze- elect of Umuoyima autonomous community,  on Thursday 28th August, 2025, Prince Uba explained that the Ezeship throne of Umuoyima community became vacant following the death of the pioneer Traditional Ruler, who was his cousin.

According to him, he was properly selected by the community to succeed the former Eze, with strict adherence to due process.

“The elders of the community, the women, the youths, my kindred and other groups, including our daughters, popularly called ‘mgboto’ all came together and agreed on my candidacy. I am qualified and I showed interest. The  making of a Traditional  ruinsr is a process . You can’t jump the process.  We are following due process “, he noted.

The Eze- elect condemned Ezeship tussle,  stressing that  Ezeship is a divine act of God through the people.

He emphasized that he has been involved in several projects geared towards the peace,  progress and development of  Umuoyima community.

“I have the support of all the groups in the community and my kindred.  The LGA has accepted our request. The  Lord who has led us to this point will equally complete His good work in us. It is now left for the Governor to give his approval”, the  Eze-elect stated.

Prince Uba was officially received at the  Owerri Municipal Council headquarters by the Executive Chairman, Hon. Engr  Chidiebere Emeribe, who commended the people of Umuoyiima community for their peaceful conduct.

The occasion was witnessed by several dignitaries from the community,  their friends and well wishers .
